Barrel leg demi cargo
While in the Philippine's in what seemed to be their trendier stores, I noticed unusual patchwork, mostly taking advantage of lettering and more rectangular shapes. The semi unusual designs stuck with me and eventually made it to the sketch book.
When creating the design I loved the idea of the shapes being functional, as well as utilizing the raw edge of the denim adding more of a textural aspect without overwhelming the overall design
The yoke initially was going to be simple in this already chaotic design, but with the diamond shaped star pocket I saw the opportunity to make the yoke a fluid and unique part of the overall piece.
Ocean Inspired Wide leg Trouser
With what started as a random thought "what would a shirt look like if it was being slowly washed away by the ocean" very quickly developed in to a semi off kilter ocean inspired outfit
While creating the denim trouser, the main objective was to not make it overtly obvious that there was an Ocean theme (E.g; no marine life or nodical themes) . The layering of the different shades of denim is to emulate the sand bank line that you can see from an arial view of the ocean.
The patch pockets on the back are arguably the most on the nose for the design; with how subtle the overall trouser is, it is a nice simple addition to a complicated trouser.
Ideally if sent to production the denim thread used would be a lighter sand colour, to subtly offset the blue.
The 1/4 top style pockets and hem would be faced to hold their unique shape
